Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have confirmed that their engagement is over.
The global performing sensation and the former baseball player, who have been a couple since 2017, have called off their two-year engagement and will focus on remaining friends.
In an official joint statement for Today they said:
– We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.
Only a few hours before official announcement Alex posted on his Instagram Story a video showing a table full of photos reminiscent of their love while Coldplay’s “Fix You” played in the background. In this emotional post he also tagged Jennifer with a heart sticker.
The announcement comes just days after Jennifer sparked breakup rumors when she shared photos of herself on her Instagram without her engagement ring on.
Jennifer and Alex got engaged in the Bahamas in March 2019 after two years of dating.
